MOVIE AND MUSIC REVIEWS

The Bucket List

The Bucket List is an ambitious movie...with megastars like Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, this movie clearly aims at being a critical and commercial hit. But it doesn't strike a chord. Two Cancer patients (with Jack being the rich bloke) befriend each other in their final days and have fun. Now, the plot isn't new but it is good. The story is a sensitive one, but the screenplay isn't impressive. Also, Nicholson and Freeman don't deliver their best in this movie. It is a watchable film but not a memorable one.

There will be Blood

Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of 'Oil' is perhaps one of the best adaptations I've seen in many years. With an impressive screenplay and camera work, this movie stands tall. With flawless Art Direction to marvelous Cinematography, it deserved all the Oscar nominations it was nominated in. Also, Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal of a greedy oil trader will be remembered as one of the best Academy Award winning performances of all times.

4/5

Discipline- Janet Jackson (album)

Discipline is Janet's first album since her disastrous 2006 album (what's the name?). Compared to her previous album, it doesn't disappoint. The tracks sound fresh and are much better. But it isn't her greatest album. Some songs can be dull but some are great foot-tapping numbers. It topped the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for a week, but it isn't her best.
